Turkish GP Qualifying
Very substandard efforts from Alonso and Vettel. Alonso was slow in both attempts and in one attempt he made a serious error. Vettel the same more or less. One error and the other one maybe traffic.
Vettel will need to clear the pig in the start or else he will be smelling the fart that pig leaves being slower.

RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
Chrissie I am not mad at him as much as dissapointed, because I don't see the last three years the renault's Fernando that I admired and worried, because he obviously has problems. All these mistakes are lack of concetration. There's definitely something wrong in his life, in Ferrari. I don't know. But it makes him too unstable. And I soooo agree with this message at the photo...
(jenni a little help here...I tried to do what you told me with the photos but the copy link option is not highlighted. I can't press it. Please fix the link. Thanks!)

RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
QUOTE FROM FERNANDO: Fernando Alonso said that 12th place on the grid was all he could muster from his Ferrari during qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix.
Alonso finished Friday's practice session with his sights set on challenging the McLarens and catching the Red Bulls but after the reality of Saturday's qualifying he admitted Ferrari is well off the pace. "Nothing strange happened: 12th place is what we deserve from what we have seen today," he said. "I did not have enough speed and, when there are nine drivers within half a second, as happened today in Q2, it takes an instant to be either fourth or twelfth and in my case it was the latter. I don't think I could have done better today: I did practically the same time three times. He was not too optimistic that things would improve in tomorrow's race and said he would drive to try to hold onto his position. "Tomorrow will be tough and we will be racing defensively, but we will try and get the best result possible," he said. "I don't think today's weather, with slightly lower temperatures, had an influence on this result. Already in Q1, we realised we were not competitive at the highest level and that it would be difficult to get into Q3. The car balance is okay, as it was yesterday when we were quicker." ![]() "Stay with me! !" |

RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
Vettel's problem another reliability issue. poor guy could have had pole. A rod-bar failure that will obviously upset the roll of the car locking up as you got into a braking zone.
As for Ferrari, this is the beginning of their slide down the toilet hole. They have been lucking into taking too many points and 1 win when the naturally faster cars have been goofing about or facing reliability issues. That is the reality here. They are finally getting no cookies. If things where normal they would never be near to the top points on pure pace anyway. Stefano donkey says "we must accelerate the development", does that mean accelerate the 'copying'? ![]() As for Fernando he was slow and he made mistakes. but the gap to Massa is not that large, he could have made it into Q3 but that doesn't change the fact that Ferrari were pants. RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
Very dissapointed and angry at Alonso/ferrari this is just not good enough. Alonso needs to sort this out and Ferrari need to wake up and actually develop there car properly. This is just ridiculous I hope this does not set the tone for the whole season!! I still have faith in Alonso, I can understand he tries to hard when the car isn't good enough like today and that's why some of the errors which is ferrari's fault for not giving him a fast enough car. If Ferrari gave him a decent car like in Bahrain then he would be perfect.

RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
Fernando needs to be very careful right now because he is already getting the dreaded vote of confidence from the powers that be at Ferrari, people are questioning his abilty as a driver now because of all of the mistakes he has made this season (more than all mistakes he has ever made in F1 put together) and if he's not careful his contract might be bought out and he'll be looking for a drive in the WRC, I mean, it's not like they haven't done that before.
I know the car is not competitive particularly in qualifying, but Massa who is on average 2-3tenths slower than Alonso is 4 places ahead on the grid. I know the car clipped the white line but he was still slow. I noticed the anti-Alonso commentary begin to rear its ugly head again yesterday and he's becoming a target once more. Amazing performance again from Webber, he's really got the edge on Vettel now, I don't know who was more miserable after quali - Alonso or Vettel! And the Renaults - outstanding yet again. Ferrari need to do something if they want to salvage anything from this season, that or forget 2010 and start development for next year. ![]() Siempre.......... |

RE: Turkish GP Qualifying
The hard reality was when I made that claim Ferrari was nothing special, many got miffed and one in here 'Xpert' ran his mouth with contempt for pure logic even after it being explained to him.
It was very obvious from the start the redbulls and Mclaren were fine cars. This is a case of Redbull already having found its sweet spots and continue to develop. Mclaren due to various errors and bad choices didnt use the full potential of the car at first. But they lucked into two brilliant strategic wins by Button. Again in a bad car button outdrives the pig. Pig only winning or getting close when the car is fast. Ferrari is nothing more than a copied concept from last years's cars, this sort of development wont last long. pretty soon Mercedes will run clear of Ferrari in pace. Renault were giving them a hard time because they just as fast or maybe even faster on the straight lines. This is why Kubica and Petrov were just enjoying themselves. In the right cars they can be a menace to anyone. Next few races it may not be possible for Renault to keep up with Ferrari. But every team is now brining upgrades to the races and two weeks gap time is now being spent on CFD time rather than actual windtunnel. So they all have the freedom to try virtual models with other expense bar electricity and man-hours. As for the 'only 3 upgrades per season' plan was completely dropped before the start of the season. It was supposed to be a cost control measure but no team in the end agreed to make it a rule. They were all competitively selfish ofourse. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.
