RE: Monaco Raceday
Yeah you're right maranello red, rule 40.13 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking. Therefore Alonso keeps sixth

RE: Monaco Raceday
I think it will as that is what the rule says on the formula 1 website, also the head steward this week is Damon Hill which might help the cause. 6th or 7th it was a good race, I didn't expect Alonso to get that far, I thought he might end up in 14th or 15th.
I can't believe only 12 cars finished aswell! Thats only half of the field. Congratulations Webber!!!

Perhaps that could be a question for the TCC - How many cars will finish the race? ![]() Siempre.......... |

Overtaking will only be permitted under the following circumstances : So shoelicker move is consider legal.

RE: Monaco Raceday
But didn't the safety car come in on the last lap? I could be wrong as I wasn't paying full attention, but I thought it came in on the last lap which would make 40.13 right wouldn't it?
Ah how confusing. |

RE: Monaco Raceday
The SCD in this lap that means last lap (78) is still on without SCD. so that 40:13 may not apply
indeed confusing...

RE: Monaco Raceday
Yeah see I interpret the rule to mean that as the safety car enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap, leaving the cars to take the last corner or so without it but then in accordance to the rule they can't overtake whilst doing the final corners
rule 40.13 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking. I guess we will just have to wait and see what the stewards decide

RE: Monaco Raceday
I think the FIA will side with Mercedes on this, surely the drivers would have been made aware of the fact that they could not pass? Anyhow, a good drive from Alonso, not spectacular, but enough, and with the help of the safety car(s). Bob Kubica was my driver of the day, especially towards the end of the race when he was trading fastest laps with Webber and Vettel.
I'm afraid the season is about as mapped out as it can be right now. One of the RBs will win the championship, Alonso will finish 3rd depending on McLaren and the Constructors will be wrapped up for Christian Horner before Singapore if this dominance continues. Still, and it's really important to remember this, which is why I keep harping on.........2010 is Alonso's installation season at Ferrari, he won't win (or be in a position to win) the WDC until at least next year. If he continues to over-drive the way he has been then it might even be 2012 ![]() Someone give Alonso a vallium and a yoga manual............now!!

RE: Monaco Raceday
Quote:40.11 When the clerk of the course decides it is safe to call in the safety car the message "SAFETY CAR IN THIS LAP" will be displayed on the timing monitors and the car's orange lights will be extinguished This will be the signal to the teams and drivers that it will be entering the pit lane at the end of that lap. Lets just put in this way, forget about siting whom. Lets look at the rules. Quote:Schumacher/Alonso incident under investigation - it will all depend where the SC line is by jonathan nobel. SO base on the rules, it is all measure under where were the SCD line is. The rules has also stated under circumstance, the car can overtake after the SCD come in, which means SCD no longer active. oh am confuse

In that case Schumacher legally overtook Alonso and will be confirmed in 6th place...........Alonso was across the SC line before Schumacher made his move. ![]() Siempre.......... |

RE: Monaco Raceday
something make me confuse why did Alonso extremely slow in that corner? he seem to have run wide bit. And shoe licker were cunning enough to play with the rules, if he knows about the SCD crosses, which means he is taking advantage on Alonso in that particular corner. But if Alonso keeping his pace how could shoe licker manage to overtake him that easily, when i look at the review, Alonso were slight run wide

RE: Monaco Raceday
Schumacher expecting no penalty
Quote:The sporting rules state that, "If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pitlane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking." So the rules were right the SCD was already in that lap lets see the official newsand look how smart the Mercedes team play with the rules.
