Kubica signs deal to stay with Renault atleast until the end of 2012
This was the only option. There is no room at Ferrari with Alonso there regardless what those two say they will not settle for both in the same team.
Also no driver considers ferrari that important anymore. There are far superior teams like Redbull, Mclaren to consider first now, even Mercedes. So if he doesnt have a room in those teams. Staying with Renault that gave ferrari a good run for their money, is the only logical and best option. So he will be staying with then until the end of 2012, the same time period when Vettel, Alonso, Shoemacher, Massa etc are running out of their contracts. More here The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.

Published September 22, 2010 Like any self-respecting final season starting the first fantasy rumors about the market drivers, technicians, suppliers, etc., etc.. Rumors about changes to drivers between the teams occupying the top ten grid positions are always the ones that attract the most attention, especially when the characters involved driving a Ferrari and Renault. From Spain comes the voice that, despite contracts signed in 2011, Kubica could take place while Felipe Massa in a Ferrari would be shot to Sauber, where he ran in 2002 and 2004-05 seasons. Polish, interviewed by a Swiss newspaper on the subject was very clear about his desire to one day drive for Ferrari but has hinted that next season will not move from Renault. "I have read several articles about this story. The only thing is to win in Formula One and we are all here for. The objective is achieved by having a competitive car and we at Renault we are focusing on how we can improve together. In 2011 we turn to fight for the world, later we shall see what happens. One day I would drive for Ferrari. It 's a different team from the other, has unique history and emotion and I think every driver wants to drive a Ferrari. " |

Kubica will dismantle Alonso in equal cars (even in unequal cars). There will be no more dominance, They will take each other off and they will eat each others' points. Alonso cant handle someone like Kubica, the vice versa is also true. Kubica is not shamilton. Kubica is too good to be a co-operative partner which is why he is not good to have as a teammate for Alonso's own personal interests. Its the simple reality. Alonso maybe Kubica best friend, but off the track he will use Santander influence to prevent Kubica from ever racing alongside him. He has stated this himself in humorous ways that he fears Kubica. It may appear to be jokes but Alonso has a point. Kubica is just that good a threat.
You may say Redbull also has two competitive drivers going at it. But the problem is Kubica is another hothead like Alonso, Both only care for themselves they will never work together to help the other. Webber is nowhere near as stubborn as Kubica has shown to be. Alonso - Kubica harmony is pure wishful thinking. You can see how Kubica is ruthless when he talks about BMW not putting enough weight behind him in 2008 or how they fell in their development cycles in the season. Kubica and Alonso are bad team players. Webber can play the team game even when he is unhappy. If Kubica is eyeing Ferrari it may hint something else that Alonso may not choose to continue with his final and 3rd year with ferrari if he doesn't win a title in these two years ( 2010 - 2011 ) thats probably what Kubica is remotely hinting at. Despite what the press have been reporting about a 5 year contract for Alonso. The confirmed contract is for 3 years and they never discussed the finer details. Its reasonable to expect 2+1 years, with the final year being an option. Nobody signs long term contracts anymore, its best to keep your options open always. You are absolutely right - 100% - and it has been my personal fear as well that Kubica will have the Hamilton effect on Alonso, only with the added spice of a genuine friendship at stake. Ferrari know the score.....Kubica is the future Alonso, so best keep him simmering nicely for them as Fernando heads for retirement......... ![]() Siempre.......... |

If Rally fit for him then is good, but is sad, i love his speed on track, we have pile of shit these day on track, we just loosing lots of valuable driver. He is gone for good i suppose. I hope he will return... one day.... his talent will not be forgotten well at least i will not, and am sure many too.

Retirement? Fernando is going to retire? When? After 2012? He will be 31. Isn't it early? (not too early, but still a couple of years more I guess?) "When your dreams turn into dust, vacuum." |
