German GP Chat
Quote:Press conference schedule:

Thursday, July 22, 1500 hours local time (1300 GMT):
Timo Glock (Virgin), Michael Schumacher (Mercedes), Adrian Sutil (Force India), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) and Mark Webber (Red Bull).

Friday, July 23, 1600 hours local time (1400 GMT):
Norbert Haug (Mercedes), Nico Hulkenberg (Williams), Monisha Kaltenborn (BMW Sauber), Kamui Kobayashi (BMW Sauber), Adam Parr (Williams) and Nico Rosberg (Mercedes).

What a surprise...all German drivers feature in the press conferences - though I admit, I love the fact they've put Seb and Mark in the same PC..here's hoping for some handbags at dawn Boxer

Mark will have a tougher time more than Vettel will answering the German media looking to rattle Mark Webber's composure with controversial and touchy questions

RE: German GP Chat
The decision on the tyres is rather stale concept. All those who are behind the top 10 will opt to gain pace and keep up with the front on the softs before they wear out and then move on to the more durable Hard tyres.

Leader runners will be best served to run hard tyres and then put softs to do late race challenges for places on track.

The hards are pretty durable they could run the entire race on those tyres without stopping.

Much ado about nothing then....just the same old, same old...

For that reason, I still kind of miss re-fuelling - added a little extra something to the race

RE: German GP Chat
People like Sam Michael are banking on Redbull to go for pole using the super softs, but that would be counter productive in the race. The Cunning Mclarens will run hards and leap frog them if they tried that.

So qualifying and starting the race on super-softs would be counter-productive?? Hmmm

RE: German GP Chat
Yes the super softs wont last long and they have to pit early to change tyres. People Like Button have shown time and time again in the races they are just too quick even on the harder tyres and they can keep up with the soft runners no matter how back they start from.

Its all about developing a large gap at the start of the race on super softs. So far it has been very difficult to achieve. If you dont have a margin you will be stuck in traffic behind the others when you pit. That slows down your progress and you will have to overtake cars that you really shouldn't wasting time with.

Now if Redbull creams everyone by 1 second a lap then super softs might just work for them. But this track is a not Silverstone. The dominance will not be that large but they will no doubt be on pole.
