Ferrari partly revealing News corp's interest in F1??
If you read this report by autosport and if the quotes are indeed accurate, then F1 is really in for some changes good or bad, One good thing would be Bernie will be thrown out. But the bad will be if News corp manages pay-per-view rights regardless of the current and future Concorde agreement legal bindings.
It seems unlikely but Ferrari and the other teams are probably trying to use the situation to get leverage on bernie and FOM at the negotiation tables. Bernie will be know this all too well. But leverage really depends on how strong News Corp's desire is to acquire F1, if at all they wanted to. More here The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Ferrari partly revealing News corp's interest in F1??
I think News Corp already revealed their interest in buying F1:
News Corp confirms interest in buying F1 ...along with some guys at FIAT...maybe a takeover wouldn't be so bad, eh? Ferrari 1-2s every weekend sounds good

Fernando doesn't need to be shamilton to look good. But this is still impossible because of anti-pay per view measures already put in place. News corp will be buying something that bernie will charge them through their noses. It would hardly make business sense without pay per view profits. RE: Ferrari partly revealing News corp's interest in F1??
There is however another means by which news corp can 'have' F1 so to speak.
FIA is now beginning to be at longer heads with the FOM, its not buddy buddy anymore. No more Max Ze punishment mosley, its Toad vs Bernie. News Corp can just start a new series that will be moderated by the FIA and there is nothing stopping them from making their own new agreements after 2012 with the team interested in this new series. In essence a breakaway for real. Bernie can whine and moan all he wants but he cant do anything CVC may own F1 and the brands and logos, The new series will come up with their own stuff. There are plenty of tracks who are not affiliated to F1, they will get back into the series. While cash rich new tracks will be doomed by their exclusive rights with FOM. CVC also can kinfe bernie from the back and avoid the depts its still paying the banks by selling F1 to news corp. All they need to do sack bernie. Then he looses his veto powers together with it. News corp owning or running their own series is not good for television. Their greed is pay-per-view, it will ruin the sport for sure in that aspect. And who knows they might make F1 completely scripted like the WWE, champions and constructors are chosen before hand with story lines and fights on the sets completely designed to appease media and fan gossip. Utter trash racing, it will become racing entertainment. Not motorsports. Bernie needs to die for sure, but a news corp take over is not the remedy. On pay per view for one boxing match it is about £15...if that happens to F1
![]() I was looking in sports (on sky) and the UK does not get speed channel, just 'Motors UK' which is free. So i think F1 will go on pay per view, unless they broadcast it on SKYSPORTS -which i don't have

Dear tension, I was of course joking....if Formula 1 goes PPV, I won't pay for it no matter how guaranteed Fernando is to win the championship ![]() I agree - News Corp buying F1 and putting it on PPV will be the death of Formula 1 in one way or the other

Piracy will be rampant, we will have more feeds on justinTV

Look at Motogp they don't ask youtube to take out videos made by fans, but FOM and that greedy old fart bernie fights tooth and nail to get hard worked fan videos to be taken down. So hail piracy lets cause them maximum damage. News Corp should not be able to make money. Piracy is a good thing in this case. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Ferrari partly revealing News corp's interest in F1??
F1 should be free for the fans. If they care about the spirit of sport and not about earning then FOM should not chasing us down to remove even our own created video.
