F1 pitstop battles in 2010
Redbull has achieved something thats remarkable. A Sub 2 second pitstop time to change tyres. Christian Horner has revealed that his pitcrew have been training with the English Olympic, football and rugby teams.
The guns are not faster they are the same so it must be a the way they handle the tyres themselves. There is a lot more room for errors now since they are obviously rushing to get that sub 2 seconds change time. But really the pitstops may not matter if you pit completely at a different time to your competitor, there maybe many seconds worth of gap to your rival infront or behind. This will really help when two competitors are pitting close to each other and are fighting for position. Nonetheless its good to be prepared with stops. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.

Wow, that's pretty impressive
![]() When I see this it reminds me - I read somewhere recently that only four people are allowed to be in the pitbox for changing tyres during qualifying?? Is that true or something someone made up somewhere??? Sounds pretty stupid to me

RE: F1 pitstop battles in 2010
There are about 18 men in the Redbull pitcrew, with 4 members they wont even get past 4sec mark. There are no limits in the rules as to how many people they can have.
Previously Mclaren had 29 members for each car, but now since every team is downsizing, this number will have come down naturally. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Maybe for qualifying they dont need the full crew since they are not in a hurry, but they could always use the practice on every chance they get.

RE: F1 pitstop battles in 2010
I think any quick release system must never be motor aided. Mechanical systems which can lift a car up without human effort will be illegal. Anything that doesn't do the job for the person holding the jack maybe allowed.

I will be impressed if they can achieve that in race conditions when the pressure is really on.
