RE: Bahrain GP Qualifying
Yes depending on your setup and what you sacrifice for qualifying you can gain big in the race trim, so getting pole or starting from the front row means very little. Even starting 5th or 7th you can't rule out winning.
So I am not placing money on anyone for the wins, but watch the Mclarens and the Mercedes they may have completely focused on long runs. Never know the redbull and Ferraris may suffer on the full loads, if they tried to go too much on the setups for the qualifying. The most important aspect will be how heavy the cars will be. You will not know the fuel loads anymore. And he who carries the least will stand to win, it wont matter if you have pole or not. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.

Post-qualifying press conference
The best one ![]() Quote:Q. (Carlos Miquel – Diario AS) Fernando, are you thinking about the possibility to attack Felipe Massa in the first corner, because normally the strategy of the team could be the same in the race?

RE: Bahrain GP Qualifying
The problem for the to 10 drivers is that they went for the softer tyres, or rather the heat of competition forced them to go for the softer tyres not the hard one. if those tyres dont hold up very well they will all pit so early in the race because pace gets so bad whatever lead they may have over the others running on the hard tyres, will have vanished.
You could be looking at people like Rubens even possibly winning because he will be on the hard tyres chipping away at the leaders and the leader pits he will simply extend the newly inherited lead and put on the softs when the car is the lighter by mid-race. The hard tyres is what is needed for the heavy cars, its bit surprising the lead teams didnt play it smart and go with the hard ones. If they make the midfeild teams steal their positions by the middle of the race they will have them selves only to blame. Because when you are lighter by the mid-to-end of it you want to be on the softs not the hards. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Bahrain GP Qualifying
Thanks you Icegirljenni and Tension_36th for the time table and the technicals explanations
The 10 ten top drivers must wear soft tyres I don't really know why ?As Fernando Alonso win the 2005 & the 2006 races in Bahrein and after the good results it should be quite easy to finish in top 3
Fernando Alonso the best driver

(03-14-2010 12:04 AM)Sunny Wrote: Thanks you Icegirljenni ans Tension_36th for the time table and the technicals explanations New rule, top 10 qualifiers must start the race with the tyres they used in Q3. Only Sutil was on hard tyres, so the rest have to use the tyres they used in Q3, which is the soft one. Very unwise move by all 9 of them and they know it. Those 9 drivers will be the first few to pit in to get hard tyres. Sutil will stay out longer just like Rubens. Ths two have the pace to take good places off the front runners. Sutil for an unlikely win? No one can bet against him at this point. We also know the Redbull, Mclaren, Force India and Renaults will be lighter since they have either the engine efficiency or the drag efficiency to able to carry lesser fuel loads to the others. This is the trump for any team in raceday. Meanwhile Pedro de la Rosa and Jaime Alguersuari have both been fined for speeding in the pitlane in 3rd free practice session. Pedro Dela Rosa - 2,000 euros doing 69.2 kmph Jaime Alguersuari- 400 euros doing 61.2 kmph The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Bahrain GP Qualifying
Engine change for both Ferrari cars. They wouldnt tell what the problems are but they see fatigue rates that can result in failure in the race.
They can change engines as long as they use only 8 engines all season long, you take a penalty when you take the 9th engine. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Bahrain GP Qualifying
Its better for everyone to have 2 stops made mandatory since everyone is struggling on either the softs or the hard tyres, no one is having the best balance except Redbull. Ferrari were loosing 1 sec to Redbull on the softs at one point before they decided to change tyres.
By forcing the teams to pit for more than 1 stop there is still a chance for some action when teams run new tyres for their cars. But the best will be by forcing a big difference between softs and hards. Along with the mandatory 2 stops. I would like to know who objected to the idea in the first place, because this rules change needed unanimous support by all teams, many where ready to go with it but a few didnt.
