Applause for Fernando!

Congratulation! He finish overall in 2nd place. This is a brilliant result compare to last 2 years isn't it? Guys stand up and clap for this man! woohoooo!!!!

this is very true and as i said before, he's our champ whether he won or didn't win

the season overall was amazing and finishing 2nd is great...

fernando is the most talented driver in F1 these days..

but it really hurt that he didn't win...
so let's all pray that next season will be fernando's year...

Vettel Reigns, but Alonso’s still King


It was a good victory for F1 when Vettel took the title last Sunday afternoon. The likable young German had shown his inexperience during the mid portion of the season, but equally had a rotten run of luck with reliability. With his 10 poles and awesome race speed over 2010, he’s a worthy champion.

The slightly bitter note to the conclusion of Abu Dhabi, however, was the British press, websites and forums celebrating Fernando Alonso coming up short in pursuit of his third crown. I fear the Hockenheim team orders affair was used as an excuse to berate the Spaniard, who from 47 points behind at Silverstone took his campaign right to the brink of glory in the manner only a multiple-time World Champion perhaps could. The notion that his claiming of the 2010 title would’ve been detrimental to the sport was horse excrement; we Brits just plain don’t like him.

It would be difficult for even the most ardent ‘Nando fan to argue that he’s a great team player and ambassador for fair play because he isn’t. He’s a driver in the Schumacher mould, a tenacious competitor who only has eyes for the prize.

Does this make him congenial, good humoured and easy to understand? No. But does it make him the most ferocious, feared driver on the grid? Unequivocally yes.

Sportsmen don’t compete to be nice, they compete to dominate and win. Alonso uses every tool and trick at his disposal to get the job done, including mauling his own teammate in the pitlane as they both sprinted for fresh rubber – maybe my moment of the season. There will be many who disagree with his antics and dislike him on a personal level, but no-one can deny his talent.

In modern British culture where populism goes hand-in-hand with mediocrity, the vitriolic assault on Ferrari’s numero uno is a clear reminder that sometimes we back the wrong man.

That's four years in a row the season has ended for me with bitter disappointment and I'm sick of it - right now I don't feel any desire to be a fan of Fernando or Formula 1 anymore - where's the point??

But for the sake of this forum and so I don't leave jenni in the lurch, I'll stick around here and help out but just maybe don't expect any enthusiasm or positivity from me anytime soon

I could end this place if everyone think the same you know. I mean i know how you feels. And i pretty much don't blame why many has started to turns off from Fernando as well as F1. So you guys let me know, and i can do the decision.

Being a fan means being there at the hard and good times! Every team I support -like Real Madrid- hasn't taken a championship for three years or so. Imagine EVERY Real fan giving it up because their team isn't going that well. I am and always will be a Fernando fan at the good and hard times. Some bad luck won't ruin this.

Look guys, I'm not saying I'm not a fan of Fernando anymore...in fact it's because I'm such a big Fernando fan that I'm taking this so hard - maybe I didn't phrase my post earlier too well.....I just can't find it in me at the moment to be postitive about anything at the moment really - I've been kicked in the guts enough lately, please don't judge me and accuse me of not being a real Fernando fan just because I'm having a tough time right now

Nobody accused you dear Chrissie! Sorry if I sounded like that. Didn't mean too. I just said that generally to everyone meaning to not give up at difficulties. I know it is hard, as it is for me too, but things will get better eventually.
And jenni are you kidding me???? And where will I find all these great Fernando photos and vids and news???!!!! Of course DO NOT close the place!
