Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
I would like to say it is nice to see the get well wishes for Kubica. It is terrible when any driver is hurt and I think Alonso has showed real class by coming out in support of his friend. I know Formula One is a business, but to see Renault trying to replace him without even knowing how he will recover is terrible, give him a chance to at least be stable before making those decisions. We know another driver will take his place, but they do not have to make it look like no one cares about Kubica. I am soooooo glad Alonso is with Ferrari, they treat their drivers better and we want the best for Alonso and let us hope he does well this year.

I am soooooo glad Alonso is with Ferrari, they treat their drivers better and we want the best for Alonso and let us hope he does well this year. Welcome to the forums! Renault has shown more eagerness to have Kubica back in the car with outlandish predictions of 6 months recovery time So that doesn't make them heartless. They are only foolish to keep the hopes up for their fans when they claim 6 months when the doctors who know better insist that it would take 1 year. They don't need replacements as they have reserve drivers. The rest of the names put out there are just press rumors as usual. Nick Heidfeld and Luzzi wont offer anything substantial than their reserve drivers as Petrov is sure to make them look nothing special. Nick was made to look ordinary by Kamui. So there is little hope for Luzzi as well against Petrov. If they replace Robert for the whole year they need someone who can deliver like kubica and do much more than petrov. They wont find that caliber in Nick or Liuzzi. might as well save money and time by placing their reserve drivers who raced last year, say Bruno. As for ferrari being nice to the drivers, don't be fooled. Their history of dealing with drivers is well documented over the years. If the price is right they will boot Alonso at anytime if they can get another star driver when they don't win titles for a long while. And given the spoiled culture of Italians to always blame the drivers and never their god Ferrari. Nothing much can be expected of them. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.

RE: Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
Yes, Fernando did what spouse did friend. I am really thankfully for him. Robert had so badly crash. Renault build new car for season 2011 doing everything about Robert Kubica. Their goal was come back to battle. Maybe get championship. Robert was one big hope for them.
Thanks Fernando for support Robert. I hope Hi will be back soon, maybe this 2011 season. |

RE: Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
Welcome Ferrarihamster
![]() Well, yeah, Renault kind of have to think about replacing Kubica...he's obviously not going to be better in time for Bahrain, so what else are they supposed to do? I don't see it as uncaring - it's no different from if I got injured or sick and couldn't work - my boss would have to find someone to replace me - it's just business.... As for Ferrari caring about their drivers....eh, I think Kimi is a good argument against that one...or Rubens.....I'm sure there are more too

RE: Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
So Renault will evaluate Nick after all, but they have mentioned it all depends on how he fares against Bruno. There wont be any surprises, Nick wont be as fast as kubica.
Read between the lines they say if Kubica cant make it back this season (he wont as this sort of stuff takes time) they will go for a winning driver. Nick isn't a winner, or even close to one. He is past it. Long back he could have been but now its over. It was clear from the last to years. This might be just rhetoric, but if they are serious then there are not many winning drivers they could get their hands on at this time. Kimi? He is at WRC, and the last round of interactions between them went down very cheap with that bastard Gerard Lopez using Kimi's name to make false statements and bragging matches in the press. But you never know for the right price and conditions Kimi may be tempted to give it a shot if the negotiators are not with Gerard Lopez or Eric. If you ask me Kimi wont drive for them after what they did a few months back. So this might all be just talk because without Kubica their hopes are essentially screwed. They will need Petrov to rise to the challenge. You never know he may pull off a big upset at the top. He has the racecraft (Abu Dhabi against Alonso) his pace is above average if not better than most top drivers. But he has to work on his consistancy a lot. So anything is possible. Alonso too started off this way, way too many errors and mistakes yet there were flashes of brilliance/potential. Then he clicked it all together in 2005 and 2006. As for the topic of Ferrari Kimi, Shoelicker Rubens Now Massa One day it will be Alonso, thats their culture. They change plates and polices as they see fit.

While it seems everyone thinks Ferrari only treated Schumacher well, I will not disagree to some extent, but they consider Alonso the new, improved Schumacher, so I feel he will be treated even better, as shown by the telling of Massa that Alonso was faster so he would move over. I am not saying Renault does not need to replace Kubica, and possibly forever, but when you look at Alex Zanardi and his miraculouus recovery-he may get well enough to race again-I am just saying Renault could have waited a week to talk about replacements in the News, that part seems heartless to not wait to announce to the news everything-could have been done behind closed doors.

RE: Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
I see that Renault's livery has a get well wish to Robert Kubica. Guess I will take back some of what I said about them, but still think Alonso is better off with Ferrari.

RE: Alonso's response to Kubica's accident
Feb.19 (PVM) Fernando Alonso again paid tribute to his friend Robert Kubica predicting that the injured Renault F1 driver will make a more rapid recovery than expected and stating that the helmet tribute he carries on his own helmet will stay put until the Pole leaves hospital.
On Saturday on day two of F1 testing in Barcelona Alonso said, “We also know that Robert is not normal, has a lot of inner strength and be sure to recover more quickly than people expected. It seems that there is improvement, the operations have been a success from a medical standpoint.” Alonso added, “But we know that being a Formula 1 driver the recovery has to be perfect and that is the question we have to all see how he recovers in the coming months.” As for the screenprinted image of Kubica’s helmet on his own helmet the Spaniard said, “That will remain on my helmet and as I said I will only remove his image when he leaves hospital.” “This Sunday, now that he has finished with the operations, I am thinking of seeing him again,” said Alonso. On 6 February in Italy, Kubica was seriously injured during the Ronde di Andora rally in which he was taking part for personal enjoyment at the wheel of a Skoda.
