Abu Dhabi free practice 1,2,3
Vettel leads first Abu Dhabi practice
The track declare wet before the start of the practice. Friday's first practice is usually an exercise in circuit cleaning and that was the case even more today thanks to the patches of damp, particulary in the shade of the unique circuit's bridges and trackside buildings. Everyone posted at least installation laps but few returned for much meaningful running until the last half hour - Lewis Hamilton, for example did not complete a timed lap until there were just 18 minutes left on the clock. When the times did fall into the 1m43s, it was the Red Bulls of Webber and Vettel, and Hamilton's McLaren that set the pace. All 24 cars were on the circuit at the end of the 90-minute session, by which time the circuit was in good enough condition for Vettel to break into the 1m42s. That left him six tenths clear of Hamilton, with Jenson Button jumping up to third late on in the second McLaren. Webber finished up fourth, ahead of Robert Kubica's Renault and Fernando Alonso's Ferrari. Michael Schumacher, Kamui Kobayashi, Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld completed the top 10. The session passed without any major incidents. Several cars had trips off the damp track early on, but Fairuz Fauzy (Lotus) was the only one to spin. Rubens Barrichello's Williams stopped on his way back to the pits after the chequered flag. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us I always knew looking back on the tears would make me laugh,

RE: Abu Dhabi free practice 1,2,3
Yes, FP1 was slightly damp - if you didn't see it you didn't miss much, nobody really did anything for the first hour because it was so slippery
![]() This is absolutely awful guys but for the first time in my life during FP2 I found myself cheering.... GO HAMILTON!!!! Shocking I know, but I would much rather he win this race than a Red Bull (that is if Ferrari aren't up to the job, which may well be the case), so I may find myself uttering those words at some future point in the weekend too.... I know, I even disgust myself sometimes

You don't even want Mark to win? I have read lots of hints from Vettel, he is going all out to help Webber. which is inevitable.

Well I don't think I would ever be able to support Ham. But for Fernando's sake, for a world champioship then as you said quite possible.
But the best case would be to have Fernando P1 on Sunday.... ahhh...

RE: Abu Dhabi free practice 1,2,3
P1 for fernando never is gonna happen because lewis in in the picture, this means that Fernando will have difficulty qualifying 3rd or 2nd for the race And these times dont mean anything red bull are faster than lewis. Lewis will qualify 3rd and fernando 4th.
Mark Webber insists he's not worried about being the slowest of the four title contenders in Friday's second practice in Abu Dhabi. McLaren's Lewis Hamilton set the pace around the Yas Marina circuit on Friday night, beating Sebastian Vettel's best by 0.25s. Fernando Alonso was third with Webber finishing the session in fourth place. However, both Alonso and Webber were within half a second of Hamilton's P1 time. "Pretty good, a normal programme," said Webber. "We had an engine change between the two sessions which was planned, and the usual suspects are at the front. "Lewis has done a pretty good lap - and it is a pretty good day. "Where Fernando, Seb and I are, we are all pretty much on similar times, so after us four I didn't take much notice. It was like that and that is how it is." Asked if he was feeling the pressure ahead of this weekend's title decider, the Red Bull driver said: "I slept like a baby last night, and I'm ready to go again tonight. "You can only do what you can do - it feels like Bahrain in terms of the engineering and the car, so it is a normal weekend but there is a lot more at stake this weekend, so that is the only thing that has changed. "You cannot try any harder." |

Like you said these times mean nothing - who knows maybe Ferrari have been really sandbagging and are in fact 2 seconds a lap quicker than RBR

RE: Abu Dhabi free practice 1,2,3
November 12, 1910 - - Fran Castro
The best driver in the World is facing the last race as a leader, but it does in the ideal scenario. The Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi is not intended specifically for a car like the F10. The Red Bull Webber and Vettel and Hamilton's McLaren better move along the path of the Emirates. The advantage is that Fernando Alonso has once again reached its maximum: not the best car on the grid to hurry up their options and comes with all the chances of success in the last race of the year. "Do not give up being the top" was the balance of the double world champion after the first day of practice in which he was third behind Hamilton and Vettel. The two Red Bull drivers, the most direct threat to Alonso, have shown that team orders have not already by now. The team won the constructors championship and heads have full freedom to its pilots to include in the track. Vettel is the favorite of those most responsible. The actor that has overshadowed the protagonist is Mark Webber, second overall and the great concern for the Spaniard. The pilot 'aussie' has more experience and knows how to bring more pressure, despite the mistake made in Korea and was a blur after a great year. The cars are virtually energy at home. The circuit features much in their favor and should refine the Ferrari engineers to be at its height. Yas Marina is a track where top speed is not essential. What really matters is the downforce to tackle a very specific sector of the circuit to achieve success. In addition, this time with less complex motor acts. This is the last test and no longer have to run anymore. Vettel has confirmed he will have only one race, Alonso and Webber played the Grand Prix with a few more miles. The F10's top speed is higher and the car will not suffer the restrictions that seemed to experience at other tracks. The best example was his records yesterday. Last year the Red Bull in Abu Dhabi dominated from start to finish. They had no rivals from qualification to the finish line, because, as is the case in Monaco, Singapore and Valencia, ninety percent of the race will play on Saturday. A year ago, Hamilton won the "pole", but a reliability problem then gave the victory to the blue cars. The position on the grid marks the absolute bottom. Overtaking is very difficult and that all candidates for the World Cup is no walk in the decisive session reservations today. The key feature of the circuit are its 21 curves with some areas where there are few wild braking. You go from 316 kilometers per hour to just over 80, is lowered from seventh place to second in tenths of a second. And that happens three times in each rotation. The rest are intertwined curves, very fast and it feels great to the chassis of RB6 Vettel and Webber. Hamilton's McLaren leaves no such benefit, but the British driver can make the most of the 'through F', which gives top speed without losing much grip in the other sectors. This happened in the first practice. The British gave the same be cautioned by the stewards to have crossed the track in front of Bruno Senna (Hispania) and cut the white line to the garage entrance. Set the fastest time. A Fernando Alonso will play again to refine the F10 and risk to cope with their rivals. The Ferrari driver will have to be above your car to reach their third title. "The''pole''is always the hardest part for us. On Saturday always suffer a little more, but then everything is equal, "the championship leader is optimistic. The key layout of Yas Marina - There are two sectors linked curves very fast and very fast with a third straight major. The grip of the Red Bull can be vital in the first two. Ferrari and McLaren would dominate the straights. - There are several overtaking points on the circuit, but pose an excessive risk in their majority. - The entrance and exit of the pits are very dangerous. It's easy to make a mistake. - The F10 reached in training to 315 mph on the straights. The Red Bull stayed at 311. |

RE: Abu Dhabi free practice 1,2,3
Good news that Hamilton is competitive.
All he has to do is spilt the Red Bull's assuming Vettel is infront of Mark and the championship will be Alonso's. Vettel Hamilton Webber Alonso However if he doesnt beat the Red Bull's but still finishes higher than Alonso then it backfires
