RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
The renault and Ferraris are paying the price for stopping development, if these two dont get a decent car next year they will be utter fools.
Mclaren will be strong because they will carry over what they have learned this year. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
The pig is on fumes as expected, the telling sign is the late outing in Q3 this is an indication that they putting less fuel so that also means less laps to do fuel burn. It was obvious the pig was some good 3-4 laps short on fuel.
Vettel can win this as long as he keep close to the pig. And the redbull is stronger on the harder tyres. Its a shame Alonso couldn't do anything but thats about the limit of the car, grosjean is showing better in comparison to Alonso the gap has reduced albeit its way down out of Q2. RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
A little surprising that the pig wasn't that low on fuel to the redbulls. This could be an indication just how much time is being gained through KERS at the right points.
The surprise is just about 1-2 laps worth of fuel, If vettel can keep up with the pig that advantage will be gone. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. With that included yes the absolute weight levels favor Redbull with bit more fuel onboard, but even then usually the gap in weight used to be higher. So KERS is the helping hand here. RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
looking at the twats fuel i would say 10 laps then pits for more fuel even with kers that car is very light.
Going by the 2 red bulls weight it is there race unless they bugger it up somehow. what more can we say simply the best |

RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
so alonso will start from p15...
After pulling out of qualifying on Saturday, Heikki Kovalainen's woes deepened when it emerged he will drop even further down the grid for the Abu Dhabi grand prix. While his teammate Lewis Hamilton looks set to dominate the race from pole position, the Finn suffered a gearbox failure during the 'Q2' segment. The McLaren transmission cannot be repaired and therefore must be replaced for the race, incurring a five-place grid demotion for an unscheduled change. Kovalainen, 28, therefore drops from 13th to 18th. "I already had minor problems with the gearbox yesterday when it jumped out of gear, so it's frustrating when you have a car you can easily take into Q3," he said. i was so excited about the race till last night when i read that alonso said that we have the worst car in the grid... even the toro rosso's were faster!! starting from p15 in his last race with renault really made me sad, but that was very expected.. what can he do? finish the race 10th... any way, still i think we'll see a nice race tomorrow but hope sutil stay away from fernando!!! RE: Fernando Alonso Q&A
Yes the car will be fashioned around Massa's preferences and they will be the baseline. It will take until 2011 before they can fashion a car for a particular driver.
You are only allowed 3 major upgrades to you car next season, which means if you screw up like Ferrari and Renault have in 2009, there is little chance of you catching up. Mclaren threw a lot of money and resources to solve their problems, this luxury will not be available next year for any team. If you start slow you will remain slow. And this is engineering, you wont turn a lemon to a diamond in just 1-2 upgrades even if you do, these upgrades will be spanned across the 2010 season which means the gap between each new upgrade will be large (several races apart), by then the winners of the first few races will be title contenders while you are effectively out of the running. Look at brawn. no more the fastest car out there but they won the title in the first half. There is little incentive in catching up later. So Alonso must learn to be patient if he unable to match massa in the first half of the season. If he feels the team is completely behind massa (we know they are) then this time its better to go behind closed doors and annul the contract and leave ferrari, it will not be good for his future to have another 2007 style war and exit. Ferrari may even publicly sack him before he can even leave on his own accord. 2010 is not smooth sailing for Alonso there is a lot at stake, mostly image more than the chance of going for the title. Alonso's temper we all know, its a Latin thing, cant fault him for that, but this time he must be extra careful. Ferrari are like hyenas. They can either treat you as god or treat you like a slave. RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
More than anything else he will be worried about people like Jamie Crashguru-suari and Sutil, these people drive with blind folds and can take you out at anytime.
Alonso needs to first make it through the first few laps of the race unscathed, then we can think of any good results. Starting at back of the grid is always a high risk. RE: Abu Dhabi GP Qualifying
yeah, agree with u tension..
the last cars in the grid r so funny.. sometimes i feel they think they can fly and pass every1!!! the most important thing is that trulli won't put last race picture on his car just to remaid sutil to stay away!! am sure sutil will just run away from him this time or else we should say (goodbye sutil) coz trulli will kill him :) KEEP SMILING ONE DAY LIFE WILL SMILE BACK |

RE: Fernando Alonso Q&A
but looking at the other options, he took the right decision... and also i think that he learned his lesson.. he won't repeat it again (i hope)
if things go bad i think he'll just retire and go cycling! i am mainly worried becoz we don't know how they will treat him.. they know he's the best but they will just push massa infront of him (they'll find a way just like what the brawn did with button this season) KEEP SMILING ONE DAY LIFE WILL SMILE BACK |
