2010 F1 engine choice
In what was the obvious choice for the Willy wanker team, the moaners havent got the Renault engine supply for next year.
It figures. Renault wouldn't supply a backstabbing team like Willliams with whom contracts mean little importance. Plus the cosworth engine will be the weakest on the grid. Hopefully common sense prevails at Redbull and they stick with renault power, if they cant get Mercedes. If funny mcliars are not vetoing redbull, they know they got screwed by allowing Brawn to be backed. But this is all completely contractual nit picking, once their official deal is over by the end of 2011 Mercedes can do as they please with any team. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79615 The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Williams to go with Cosworth after all
It is confirmed, they have signed with Cosworth. We can look forward to Williams cleaning the tracks on Fridays and racedays for the rest of the drivers as Williams will be a shitty team as they always have been ever since they last won a race.
Its good they never got the Renault engines, they dont deserve works supports from better companies http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_n...t_id=39442 The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. RE: Confirmed: Williams to go with Cosworth after all
Strange to think though that when I started watching F1, Williams was considered one of the top three teams in F1 and look at them now
![]() Reminds me of an article I read in a paper one time that was kind of taking the mick out of the F1 teams - it said if Williams were to have a slogan it would be like "At Williams, we believe in going downhill so we can accelerate faster"

RE: Confirmed: Williams to go with Cosworth after all
Frank Williams's moaning and whining at every chance he gets to veto a competitive threat seems to have definitely gain some serious 'acceleration'.
Thats the only thing Willi Wanker F1 can boast of. The real Mclaren died in 2006, the king is dead, long live the king. Aryton SENNA, the 1 and ONLY I'll be there to personally to slap michael shoe-licker when the "Farting Horse" empire falls and its years of cheating exposed.

RE: 2010 engines choice
There is some serious talk between the splitting of Mclaren and Mercedes. I can sense that to why Kimi were seem to take s long to confirm the Mclaren seat, according to TS reported that Martin and Haug both not even greeting each other anymore. If Mercedes leaving Mclaren they are going to be suffer, Brawn were showing a strong performance this season, Mercedes really showing a strong interested with Brawn team. Hopefully we get to know all the line up soon,as well as they choices of the engines.

RE: 2010 engines choice
While the Mercedes Mclaren split will happen very soon, i am skeptical of the claim that Mclaren are actually against this, they are in favor of it as far as we can see from their decisions to go it alone in the road car departments which in turn made Mercedes very frustrated. Also by the way how they handled 2007 with Alonso and how they are handling everything ever since at Mclaren.

RE: 2010 engines choice
Ok thought this topic will be suitable.
VW considering F1 engine supply 2012 Quote:"If you're the world's largest manufacturer is natural that we're thinking about [Formula 1], but not before 2012," Stuck told AUTOSPORT about Volkswagen's F1 ambitions. The Volkswagen Group has recently enjoyed great success in racing with its different brands. Besides its multiple Le Mans wins with Audi, its WTCC titles with Seat in the past two years and its Dakar victory this year, Volkswagen also powered drivers with VW engines to the British and German F3 titles this, rounding out the season with victory in last weekend's Macau Grand Prix. RE: 2010 engines choice
They have a point, they wont have any risks associated with ensuring success. They get paid for their engines, its business they can aim to make a profit of 1 million on any team they deal with. They wouldn't have to care if the team is a winner or a looser if they have many teams to supply with. Brand Image will not be a problem then

RE: 2010 F1 engine choice
Vettel: Red Bull to use Renault engines
Sebastian Vettel has revealed that Red Bull will continue to use Renault engines in 2010. Red Bull named Renault as their engine supplier in the recently published FIA entry list, but team boss Christian Horner confirmed that the decision was not yet official. Suggestions that the Austrian-based squad would switch to Mercedes or Cosworth engines gained momentum following Horner's comments, but Vettel has now revealed the team will remain with the French manufacturer. When asked about the engine situation during the RTL programme '2009! Menschen, Bilder, Emotionen', Vettel has been quoted by Motorsport.com as answering: "We're staying with Renault." RE: 2010 F1 engine choice
They had confirm it before and i think they are not going to change, the speclation about they are not confirm with the Renault engine are more or less has to do with the news about Renault pull out, i still think that, Horner really wanted to keep Renault engine for the seek of the refueling ban issue. What make Horner have a doubt about it is, whether Renault will stay with F1 or not in 2010, but right now looks like they have at least 70% will stay. Which is good.

(02-10-2010 11:44 PM)Xpert Wrote: Tension , Yes they did but will Mclaren really be interested in pursuing that route? They have already pushed Mercedes out of their road car engine division. So they can might as well go it alone in the F1 engine department as well. A real Mclaren F1 engine is not that difficult for a established motor-racing company like Mclaren technologies.
